Ukrainian army continues counteroffensive in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. Defenders are advancing on the southern flank of the Bakhmut direction and in the area of Verbove
The Institute for the Study of War reports.
Analysts noted that Ukrainian forces continued successful offensive actions south of Bakhmut in the area of Andriivka during the day. Geolocation footage released on October 5 shows that Ukrainian troops have advanced to the tree line between Robotyne and Verbove.
At the same time, Captain Ilya Yevlash, spokesman for the Eastern Grouping of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, noted that Ukrainian troops are preparing for offensive actions during the fall and winter. He emphasized that the supply needs will increase, and rains and fogs may complicate the use of drones, tactical and army aircraft, but Ukrainian forces will continue their offensive in the winter.
- The day before, Yevlash said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to drive Russian troops from their positions in the Bakhmut sector. At the same time, the occupying Russian forces intensified hostilities in the Lyman-Kupyansk sector.
