Ukrainian courts will have no heads

In fact, it is high time. For as long as the judicial system has existed, judges have been subjected to pressure and illegal influence through the heads and deputies. And those small legitimate functions that they perform can be completely divided among themselves by judges-speakers and chiefs of staff.

The situation with Ukraine’s Council of Judges is the same. It does not perform important functions at all except for convening and preparing the congress - this can be done by other judicial governance bodies. But the Council of Judges headed by Bohdan Monich has scored 15/10 in slowing down the judiciary process in recent years.

It is symbolic that the draft law was registered on the eve of the Congress of Judges, which should elect 8 members of the High Council of Justice and finally launch its new composition. Of course, its results will also affect the promotion of the draft law.
