Ukrainian border guards repulse enemy assaults, capture Russian positions in Bakhmut direction

Ukraine's State Border Service reported this.

“The Russian invaders continue their offensive on Bakhmut. Under the cover of artillery, the occupiers tried to seize one of the advanced positions of our defenders. The border guards waited for the air raid in shelters, and when the enemy infantry approached, they opened fire,” the press service wrote. 

It is reported that the attempted Russian assault failed, and the enemy suffered losses and began to flee.

The border guards, together with soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, counterattacked and occupied the invading Russian forces' positions. 

As a result of the battle, 9 Russian soldiers were killed, and 20 more were wounded.

“Currently, the Defense Forces have advanced 300 meters and are securing new positions,” the State Border Service added.
