This was reported by the head of the press service of the Eastern Grouping of Forces Ilya Yevlash on Espreso TV.
"Quite heavy, intense fighting is taking place along the entire contact line with the enemy in the area of responsibility of the Eastern grouping of troops. The largest number of Russian occupation troops is now in the Lyman-Kupyansk sector - over 110 thousand," he emphasized.
In particular, Russia concentrates on the direction of Novoyehorivka. On August 31, Russian forces conducted nine air strikes near it, eight assaults and fired 46 times at the settlement.
Of the seven Russian tanks destroyed in this area, six were eliminated near Novoyehorivka.
- On August 9, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, National Guard Reserve Major Oleksiy Hetman, noted that Russia had concentrated about 1,000 tanks in the Kupyansk-Lyman area and was trying to break through the Ukrainian defense.
