Ukrainian army repels all Russian attacks in Avdiivka sector

"Fighting continues in the Avdiivka sector. Yesterday, with the support of tanks and many armored vehicles, the enemy launched an offensive in the areas of Tonenke, Avdiivka, Keramik and Pervomaiske. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled all enemy attacks, we did not lose any borders or positions," noted Shtupun.

According to him, Russia has suffered quite heavy losses, so it is forced to move additional forces to the Avdiivka sector and pull up reserves. 

"That means the fighting in Avdiivka is still ongoing. Today we are also hitting them, there are positive results, which we will report later," added Shtupun.

The spokesperson for the joint press center of the Tavria Defense Forces described the situation in other parts of the frontline.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled more than 10 enemy attacks in the areas of Marinka and Krasnohorivka. In the Shakhtarsk sector, Russia conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the areas of Zolota Nyva and Volodyne. In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces improved the tactical situation in the area west of Robotyne. Our defenders are also holding back enemy attacks near Inzhenerne and Verbove," said Colonel Shtupun.

Russian forces are paying a high price for their assaults, both in terms of personnel and military equipment. 

"Total enemy losses in the Tavria sector alone amounted to 750 people over the last day. Three invaders also surrendered. The Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed almost 98 units of military equipment, 44 units were damaged. 18 tanks were destroyed, 59 armored combat vehicles were destroyed, and 12 tanks were damaged. Five artillery systems, one MLRS were destroyed and an SU-25 aircraft was shot down. Among other things, the Terminator tank support vehicle, which is the pride of the Russian military industry, was destroyed. A Meteorit UR-77 was also destroyed and an MI-8 helicopter was damaged. We also destroyed an ammunition depot and two rather important enemy targets. Our artillerymen are working quite hard. They have increased the number of firing missions by one and a half times, this figure is 1,777 firing missions," Shtupun summed up.

• On October 11, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that over the past day, the Russia intensified its offensive in the Avdiivka sector with up to three battalions supported by tanks and armored vehicles. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled all attacks and did not lose their positions. At the same time, the occupiers lost 820 troops
