Ukrainian Armed Forces shoot down 4 Russian drones
On August 24, the Ukrainian military have shot down four Russian drones that were trying to spy on the Armed Forces' deployment.
This was reported by the Air Command Center and OC North.
The military shot down one drone each in the Sumy and Cherkasy regions. Two more drones "landed" in the Chernihiv region.
On August 24, the occupiers shelled the border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy regions eight times.
Sumy region
The Russians began shelling the north of the Sumy region from 09:00. At first, there were three mortar attacks on the territory of the Znob-Novgorod community. Around 10:00, seven explosions occurred in the Bachivska area of the Shostka district. The fire was conducted from barrel artillery from Nekislitsa in Russia.
At 12:00 there were five explosions again in the Znob-Novgorod territorial community, probably from an 82 mm mortar. Around 15:00, the shelling of the Esman Territorial Community began: three approaches from barrel artillery and one projectile, which probably did not detonate. The shelling came from the side of the Russian Troebortny.
There is no information about losses among the local population or damage to civil infrastructure.
Chernihiv region
Around 09:00 there were four explosions in the Novgorod-Siversky district. The shelling was carried out from self-propelled artillery installations from the Russian settlement of Sluchevsky. Since 10:15, seven more explosions have been recorded in the area of Semenivska Territorial Community. They shot from the Russian town of Lomakovka.
At 11:40 there were eight 120-mm mortar rounds in the area of the village of Hirsk, Koryukiv district.
At 16:00, there were 12 explosions in the area of Kamianska Sloboda settlement of Novgorod-Siversky district, probably fired from barrel artillery. As a result of the attack, there was a forest fire.
