Ukrainian army repels 45 Russian attacks in Avdiivka sector in one day — General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region. About 20 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 Russian attacks near Synkivka, and 2 more east of Petropavlivka, Kharkiv region. About 10 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 2 attacks near Serebryanka forestry, Luhansk region, and east of Terny, Donetsk region. About 10 settlements suffered from Russian artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukraine's troops repelled 6 Russia's attacks near 2 settlements in the Donetsk region. Russian troops launched an air strike near Kostyantynivka, Donetsk region. About 10 settlements came under Russian  artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 25 attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, and another 20 attacks south of Sieverne, Pervomaiske and Nevelske, Donetsk region. Russian troops unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops in these areas. Over 10 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back Russian troops near Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 attacks. Russian troops launched an air strike near Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. Six settlements in the Donetsk region came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops did not conduct assault operations. About 10 settlements came under Russain artillery and mortar fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 6 attacks near Robotyne and west of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, 4 settlements came under Russian artillery fire.

Russia shells about 100 settlements 

In particular, in the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian targeted over 20 villages and towns.

Russia launched 10 missile, 4 air strikes, and 32 MLRS attacks at Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements. Russian terrorist attacks resulted in civilian casualties. 

Ukrainian defenders repel 84 attacks in a day, 45 of them in the Avdiivka direction

Ukrainian Defense Forces hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, Kherson region. They continue to inflict fire on Russian troops.

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 5 Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment concentrations.

Ukrainian missile troops struck a Russian control center and two concentrations of personnel, weapons and military equipment.
