Fighting for Marinka in Donetsk region
Marinka is located very close to the Russian-occupied city of Donetsk. Fierce fighting began on the day of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. During this time, the entire infrastructure of the town was completely destroyed.
In early December, British intelligence reported that Russian troops were gradually advancing through the ruins of Marinka, a town in the Donetsk region. Russia now appears to control most of the built-up area.
The spokesman for the Tavria Defense Forces, Oleksandr Shtupun, said that 90% of the fighting was concentrated in the areas of Avdiivka and Marinka.
