Ukrainian Armed Forces regroup on southern front, prepare for further offensive - Captain Shershen

Captain Valeriy Shershen, spokesperson for the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces, shared the information on Espreso TV.

"We have some work to do - means and comprehensive measures. Specific military units, including their offensive components, have been assigned to carry out these tasks. The enemy is responding and adapting to our actions by redeploying and reinforcing their forces," he said.

The spokesman added that Russian troops on the southern front are on the active defense.

"We are advancing with systematic approach. Even those significant obstacles - dense mining and constant artillery fire - we know how to deal with them. Our fighters are holding the previously occupied lines, clearing the area of mines, regrouping and preparing for further offensive actions. The enemy is reinforcing certain areas and creating some commotion. This is not in their favor, but we are acting according to the plan," summarized Shershen.

Ukrainian Armed Forces counteroffensive on the southern front

On June 12, Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had liberated 7 settlements and advanced 6.5 kilometers.

Later, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially confirmed the liberation of the village of Pyatykhatky, Zaporizhzhia region. Units in the Tavria sector advanced up to 7 km.

On June 24, the Ukrainian Defense Forces confirmed the liberation of the territories near Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region, which had been under occupation since 2014.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces de-occupied the village of Rivnopil, Donetsk region. The Russian army occupied the village in March 2022.

On July 4, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were making advances in the south.

On the morning of July 5, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces were continuing their offensive in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidating their positions, inflicting artillery fire on the identified enemy targets, and carrying out counter-battery operations.
