Ukrainian Armed Forces intensify their offensive and are moving forward in two directions - UK intelligence
Ukrainian Armed Forces have intensified their offensive in the Kharkiv region and are moving forward in two directions to the east of the Oskil and Siverskyi Donets rivers.
British Ministry of Defense reports on Twitter.
British intelligence draws attention to the fact that in recent days Ukraine has intensified offensive operations in the north-east of the country. Units are slowly advancing in at least two directions east of the line of the Oskil and Siverskyi Donets rivers, where forces have been consolidating since the previous offensive in early September.
Analysts note that Russia establishes a more substantial defense than before, probably because the Ukrainian advance now threatens parts of the Luhansk region, on the territory of which a pseudo-referendum was held to join Russia.
Intelligence added that heavy fighting continues in the Kherson region, where Russian forces on the right bank of the Dnipro river remain vulnerable. Russia also continues its tough push to advance in the Bakhmut region of Donbass, even as it faces serious pressure on its northern and southern flanks.
"This is probably due to political pressure, as Russia uses forces that could otherwise strengthen other flanks," British intelligence concluded.
