Yurii Ihnat, the spokesman of the Air Force Command of Ukraine's Armed Forces, said this on the air of the telethon on December 26.
“They attack the capital the most. It is clear that the capital is the enemy's target number 1,” he said.
Ihnat recalled that Kyiv had been the Russian forces' target since the first days of the full-scale invasion, when they tried to seize the airfields, land an amphibious assault and surround the capital. Now the occupiers have changed their tactics.
“Now they are attacking the critical infrastructure facilities around Kyiv. These are the facilities of the fuel and energy sector. That is where the occupiers direct most of their cruise missiles,” the spokesman of the Air Force Command said.
- On the night of December 26, explosions rang out at the airfield of the Russian city of Engels, Saratov region. The occupying forces reported three killed Russian servicemen.
- The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, commenting on the explosions at the Russian airfield, said that they are the consequences of what the Russian Federation is doing on Ukrainian soil.
