Explosions in Russian Engels, three dead reported

Following the explosions, the Governor of the Saratov region Roman Busargin wrote that "there is absolutely no threat to the residents".

"There is absolutely no threat to the residents. All stories about evacuation from the city are brazen lies created far outside the country. Civilian infrastructure objects were not damaged. Information about the incident at the military facility is being investigated by law enforcement agencies," he wrote.

The Baza outlet reports that after the explosions a fire broke out, engulfing 120 m2. According to preliminary data, 3 people died. Four more were hospitalized.

• On December 5, Russian military airfields Diagilevo, Ryazan region, and Engels, Saratov region, were attacked.
• Three Russian servicemen who were at the airfield were fatally wounded. Four more were injured.
• According to unconfirmed reports, two Tu-95MS strategic bombers were damaged as a result of the explosion at one of the airfields, and a fuel tanker exploded at the other.
• In the evening, the Russian Defense Ministry admitted that 2 airfields were hit.
