Ukrainian air defense forces destroy 20 Shaheds and 4 cruise missiles overnight

The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the information on Telegram.

"On the night of May 22, 2023, the Russian invaders attacked the military and infrastructure facilities of Ukraine's eastern outpost - Dnipro. The attack was carried out with 16 missiles of various types and 20 Shahed-136/131 attack drones," the statement said.

In total, Russian troops fired:

• 4 Kh-101 / Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Caspian Sea

• 5 Kh-22 cruise missiles from Tu-22m3 long-range bombers from different directions - the Sea of Azov and Kursk region

• 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the occupied Crimea

• 5 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region

• 20 Iranian Shahed-136/131 attack drones from the southern and northern directions

In addition, at the end of the day on May 21, in the territorial waters of Ukraine in the Kherson region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian Su-35 fighter jet.

• At night on May 22, during an air raid, Russians attacked Dnipro and the region. The buildings of a rescue unit, a private enterprise, administrative buildings, houses, a kindergarten and shops were hit.
