Ukraine’s defense forces repel more than 120 Russian attacks 

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported in a morning briefing on March 21.

The main goal of the Russian army over the past day was to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. For this purpose, invaders focused their main efforts on conducting offensive actions on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marinka and Vuhledar directions. 

However, Ukrainian defenders repelled more than 120 Russian attacks in these areas.

In particular, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 12 strikes on the areas of concentration of occupiers' personnel and military equipment over the day, and missile and artillery units hit 3 areas of concentration of enemy manpower.

Russia conducted 21 air strikes and 9 missile attacks on Ukraine over the last day

One of them hit the city of Sloviansk. There were no civilian casualties. Another missile strike took place in Kramatorsk, a civilian infrastructure facility was a target. Seven multi-storey buildings and three private cars were damaged. 

There were no civilian casualties. 

In total, the enemy launched 21 air strikes and 9 missile strikes. The enemy also fired 57 times from multiple launch rocket systems.

The risk of missile strikes throughout Ukraine remains high.

Situation in different directions

The operational situation in the Northern and Northeastern Ukrainian borders remains unchanged. 

The Russian Federation continues to maintain a significant military presence on the territory of the Belarussian Republic, however, without any obvious formation of offensive groups. 

At the same time, they continue to equip the terrain in the border areas of the Russian Bryansk and Kursk regions.

During the day, occupying Russian forces fired mortar and artillery shells near 26 localities. Among them - 11 in Sumy region; 2 in Chernihiv region, and 12 in Kharkiv region.

At the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the Russian army unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense of our troops by firing artillery at 11 settlements along the contact line. 

In particular, the areas of 3 settlements in Kharkiv region, 4 in Luhansk region, and 3 in Donetsk region were affected. 

They conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of Novoselivske.

In the Bakhmut direction, the occupiers did not stop storming the city of Bakhmut. At the same time, Ukrainian troops repelled enemy attacks in the vicinity of 4 localities. 

12 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled. In total, 12 settlements in the Bakhmut direction suffered from the enemy's fire.

At the Avdiivka, Marinka and Vuhledar directions, the Russian enemy unsuccessfully tried to advance towards 5 localities in Donetsk region. Numerous hostile attacks took place in the area of 17 localities. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the Russian enemy continues to defend.

The occupying forces are intensively shelling, in particular, 6 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region, 3 in Donetsk region, and 8 in Kherson region. The total number of towns and villages shelled is 41.

• Earlier it was reported that the Russian army is suffering losses and equipping new frontline hospitals. In particular, in the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian soldiers bring the wounded in KamAZ trucks.
