Ukraine’s army liberates Urozhaine in Donetsk region

Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar announced this on August 16.

"Urozhaine has been liberated. Our defenders are consolidating their positions," she said in a statement.

According to Maliar, the Ukrainian military's offensive continues.

"In the course of offensive operations, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces have captured the village of Urozhaine and are consolidating the achieved positions," said Andriy Kovaliov, spokesman for the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to him, the Ukrainian military are firing artillery at the identified enemy targets and are carrying out counter-battery measures.

Urozhaine is a village in Volnovakha district, Donetsk region, located on the right bank of the Mokri Yaly river.

It has been occupied since March 2022.

In the morning, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces wrote that the Russians unsuccessfully tried to restore their lost position in the area of Urozhaine.

Earlier, Maliar reported that the situation in eastern Ukraine remains tense and complicated. Nevertheless, the liberation of Urozhaine continued in the Donetsk region.
