Ukraine's army fights heavily against Russia at 4 eastern sectors - AFU General Staff

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared the information in its report on June 22.

"The enemy are focusing on Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions, heavy fighting continues. Over 40 combat engagements took place over the last day," the statement said. 

Russia launches 44 air strikes and 47 attacks MLRS at Ukraine in a day

Over the past day, Russian terrorists once again launched a missile attack and 44 air strikes on Ukraine. They used 6 Iranian-made Shahed attack UAVs, but all drones were destroyed. Russian troops also fired 47 MLRS attacks.

The threat of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains high.

The situation in the directions

On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops launched air strikes near 3 settlements across Chernihiv and Sumy regions. They also launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of 36 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops launched an air strike near 1 settlement in the Kharkiv region. Eight settlements across the Kharkiv region came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near 3 settlements and air strikes near 3 more. Nine settlements across Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near 3 settlements and air strikes near 3 others. They also shelled 11 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near Avdiivka and 2 other settlements. They carried out air strikes near the same 3 settlements.

The Russian army also shelled 11 settlements with artillery. 

In the Marinka direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near 3 settlements. 

Russian troops launched an air strike on Krasnohorivka and shelled 7 more settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near 2 settlements and air strikes on 2 others. They also shelled 10 more settlements. 

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian forces are on the defensive. They launched an unsuccessful assault near a settlement in the Zaporizhzhia region and air strikes on 5 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region.

They also shelled 39 settlements across Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions. 

Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy 3 Russian control points, 1 air defense system and 2 electronic warfare stations in a day

Over the past day, the Ukrainian military launched 12 attacks on Russian personnel concentrations and 6 on air defense systems. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed a Russian Mi-24 attack helicopter and 7 reconnaissance UAVs.

Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit 3 control points, 1 anti-aircraft missile system, 2 concentrations of Russian personnel and military equipment, 13 artillery pieces at firing positions, 2 electronic warfare stations and an ammunition depot.

• On the night of June 22, an air alert was declared in Kyiv and a number of regions due to the threat of a missile and Shahed drone attack; explosions were reported in Kryvyi Rih.
