Ukraine to receive NATO accession algorithm at Vilnius summit - Defense Ministry
Deputy Defense Minister Volodymyr Havrylov is convinced that the NATO summit in Vilnius will set the algorithm for Ukraine's accession to the Alliance
Ukraine's Defense Ministry posted this on Telegram on Saturday, June 10.
Havrylov noted that at the summit in July, NATO countries will come up with a certain order of Ukraine's accession, which will be fixed.
In particular, he added that despite the consensus decision-making mechanism and the veto power of the Alliance member states, he does not think there will be any major problems with the decision-making on Ukraine.
“There are all signs that Ukraine will get what it wants in a certain format,” he said.
“At the summit in Vilnius, Ukraine should already clearly understand that after the war, say within a year or two, after certain procedural things are done, we will be NATO members,” the deputy minister added.

In July, the NATO summit will be held in Vilnius. Ukraine expects concrete decisions on its path to joining the Alliance. On May 23, Ukraine's ambassador to NATO, Natalia Galibarenko, said that in the context of the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius, Ukraine was preparing two cooperation packages: a political and a practical one, which it would propose for discussion. And on May 30, Dmytro Kuleba voiced three steps for the success of the Vilnius Summit. “Strengthen institutional ties and assistance between Ukraine and NATO. Take a step towards Ukraine's membership in NATO. Provide security guarantees on Ukraine's path to NATO.” More news about Ukraine's accession to NATO can be found at this link.
