Ukraine to offer two packages of cooperation with NATO at Vilnius summit
In the context of the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius, Ukraine is preparing political and practical cooperation packages to be discussed
This was stated by Ukraine's Ambassador to NATO Natalia Galibarenko during a briefing, according to European Pravda.
According to her, the political package, in particular, is about bringing Ukraine-NATO relations to a new institutional basis.
“And here we are talking about transforming, for example, the current NATO-Ukraine Commission into the NATO-Ukraine Council, which will allow us to make some decisions and discuss certain decisions together with the Alliance members, not separately,” the diplomat said.
Galibarenko said that the practical package envisages that a multi-year plan will be created for Ukraine to help further bring Ukraine's interoperability closer.
“We are talking about assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a large increase in funding for the current comprehensive assistance package,” she added.
Galibarenko noted that these include projects such as humanitarian demining, medical rehabilitation, and a gradual transition to NATO-standard weapons, which will also include conducting and continuing exercises and training for the Ukrainian military.
