Ukraine signs agreement on participation in EU’s Single Market Programme
The agreement on Ukraine's participation in the EU's Single Market Programme has been signed in Kyiv on February 2 before the Ukraine-EU summit
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal made the announcement.
He noted that following joint consultations with the Board of the European Commission, two documents have been signed in Kyiv: an agreement on participation in the Single Market Programme and a Memorandum of understanding between the European Union and Ukraine on a Strategic Partnership on Biomethane, Hydrogen and other Synthetic Gases.
The budget of the Single Market Programme is EUR 4.2 billion, and one of its main components is the development of business competitiveness.
"Our participation in this project will contribute to additional support for Ukrainian entrepreneurs, who are the foundation of our economy," Shmyhal added.
Regarding the Memorandum, the Prime Minister emphasized that Ukraine has extraordinary potential in this area, which is the future of energy.

On February 3, the Ukraine-EU summit will take place in Kyiv. One of the topics to be discussed at the summit will be preliminary negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.

On February 2, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and Josep Borrell, head of European diplomacy, as well as 15 European commissioners arrived in Kyiv to participate in the summit. On the eve of the summit, joint consultations between the Ukrainian government and the European Commission were opened.
