Ukraine repels massive Russian attack: 36 of 43 cruise missiles destroyed

The Air Force and Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhnyi reported.
"On the night of September 21, 2023, at about 3:40 a.m., the Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 air-launched cruise missiles. A total of 43 cruise missiles were launched from 10 Tu-95MS strategic aircraft from the area west of Engels," the statement reads.
It is reported that the missiles were launched in several waves, while constantly changing their course in the Ukraine's airspace .
As a result of the Air Force and the Defense Forces' air defense, 36 Russian cruise missiles were destroyed.
"Anti-aircraft missile troops, fighter aircraft of the Air Force, units of mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and other means were used to repel the attack," the military said.
Besides, at 06:00 a.m., Russia attacked Kharkiv with S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles.

In the morning of September 21, Ukraine experienced two waves of missile attacks from the Russian Federation. There are victims in Kyiv, Kyiv region, Cherkasy and Kharkiv. A hotel in Cherkasy was destroyed.
