Ukraine recaptures 2 km2 near Bakhmut and 5.2 km2 in south in one week
In another week of full-scale war, Ukrainian defenders liberated 2 square kilometers in the Bakhmut direction and 5.2 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory on the southern front from Russian occupying forces
Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar reported the information.
According to her, in the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops tried to break through the Ukrainian defense near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka and Kurdyumivka, Donetsk region, to no avail.
After the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated Andriivka and Klishchiivka, Russiais trying its best to regain the lost ground. Ukrainian soldiers are repelling Russian attacks there and consolidating their positions.
"Over the past week, 2 square kilometers were liberated in the Bakhmut direction. In total, the area liberated near Bakhmut is 51 square kilometers," wrote Maliar.
She also added that the offensive in the Bakhmut direction is being carried out by the forces Ukraine is defending with.
"That is, without establishing an offensive group, without using additional resources and material means. This is possible only thanks to the skill of the Commander of the Joint Forces Operation Khortytsia, the Headquarters, which works 24/7, and the courage of our soldiers," emphasized the Deputy Defense Minister.
At the same time, in the Avdiivka and Marinka directions, Russia is unsuccessfully trying to establish full control over Marinka and the encirclement of Avdiivka, Donetsk region. Russian troops have been conducting futile offensives nearf Keramik, Avdiivka, Sieverne and Marinka, Donetsk region, over the past week.
Russia regroups its troops in the Lyman-Kupyansk direction
In the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces are looking for weaknesses in Ukraine’s defense. Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled attacks near Novoselivske, Luhansk region.
In the Lyman direction, Russian troops regrouped their troops, and did not conduct any offensive or assault operations.

In just one week, the Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated 5.2 square kilometers of territory in the southern direction, particularly in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Russian troops are on the defensive there, but continue to launch shellings.
"In the south, we continue our offensive in the Melitopol direction. We have some gains in the area south and east of Robotyne. Our troops are now consolidating the achieved positions there," noted Maliar.
Ukrainian troops repelled Russian attacks near Novomykhailivka, Novodarivka and Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhya region.
- On September 14, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said that the Ukrainian military had liberated the village of Andriivka near Bakhmut, Donetsk region, but the 3rd Separate Mechanized Brigade denied the statement and called it false.
- Later, on September 17, the Ukrainian Defense Forces completely liberated Klishchiivka, south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, but Russian troops were still trying to capture the village.
