Ukraine loses less equipment in offensive than Russia does in defense - Security Service Colonel Kostenko
Ukrainian MP, Security Service (SBU) Colonel Roman Kostenko emphasized that the Russians deliberately exaggerate the number of destroyed Ukrainian equipment
He expressed this opinion on the Verdict with Sergiy Rudenko program on the Espreso TV channel.
"The intelligence of Ukraine reports that the Russians deliberately overstate the number of destroyed Ukrainian equipment. But we see real figures that in the offensive, we lose less equipment than the enemy loses in defense. We must understand that no counteroffensive can take place without losses. Of course, the command should do everything possible to minimize these losses. The main thing is to lose fewer lives of our people because people are the highest value. Equipment can be restored, but people cannot," Kostenko emphasized.
According to the Colonel of the SBU, the occupiers had a plan to capture Kyiv within three days, but are currently holding the line in the Zaporizhzhia sector. "Even when the enemy destroyed several tanks and BMPs, we saw that people remained alive. The equipment will be repaired, and Ukrainian defenders will storm the enemy positions again. The Russians are trying to show their society that everything is going according to plan for them. But their plan was different - to capture Kyiv within three days, and now they are telling how heroically they are repelling our counteroffensive. Plans are always adjusted. In the aggressor's case, these plans are adjusted from an offensive to holding a fierce defense on the Zaporizhzhia direction," Kostenko noted.
