More than 30 combat engagements: Russian troops attack in several directions, Ukrainian forces repel enemy assaults

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on June 21.

Invading Russian forces are attacking in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions, where fierce fighting continues. Ukrainian defenders had more than 30 combat engagements with the enemy over the last day.

Russia once again strikes at Ukrainian civilian settlements and army positions

During the day, Russian troops launched over 30 airstrikes using 6 Iranian Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs. All drones were destroyed by Ukrainian soldiers.

The occupiers also launched 23 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and civilian settlements. There are dead and wounded civilians and destroyed infrastructure.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the entire border line with mortars and artillery: 4 settlements in the Chernihiv region, 11 more in the Sumy region, as well as 21 localities in the Kharkiv region were attacked. 

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions

In the Kupiansk direction, 9 settlements came under artillery shelling. 

In the Lyman direction, 8 settlements came under Russian fire. 

In the Bakhmut direction, 13 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled by the invading Russian forces. 

In the Avdiivka direction, 14 settlements of the Donetsk region were shelled. 

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all of the Russian troops' assaults, however, 6 settlements of the Donetsk region came under shelling. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, 11 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 40 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army. 

Ukrainian Armed Forces hit Russian military positions

During the day, Ukrainian aviation launched 12 strikes on Russian manpower concentration areas and 6 strikes on anti-aircraft defense. In addition, the soldiers destroyed a Russian Mi-24 helicopter that attacked Ukrainian positions.

During the day, Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit the enemy's control center and weapons depot.

• On June 21, Ukrainian military spokesman Andrii Kovaliov said that Ukrainian troops eliminated Russian paratroopers who were on their way to Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region for rotation. As a result, many enemy soldiers were either killed or injured.
