Ukraine launches mass production of its own Sirko UAV
Ukraine has started mass production of its own Sirko drones, and the developer plans to introduce another version of the UAV soon
Ihor Krynychko, chairman of the supervisory board of Skyassist Research and Production Company LLC, said this in a comment to Ukrinform at the presentation of the Ukrainian-made UAV Flying Birds Demo Day.
According to him, a Defense Ministry commission gave permission for the Sirko reconnaissance drone to be used by the military about a week ago, and it is being codified. Serial production of the complex is currently underway, and the developer plans to present a second version of the drone.
Krynychko noted that there is currently no question of state procurement of drones, they are purchased for the military at volunteer expense. In June, the defense received almost a hundred systems. At the same time, the manufacturer's capacity allows for the production of 800-1000 per month.
He added that the manufacturers have managed to establish ties not only with Chinese manufacturers of the necessary components, but also with Israeli, Canadian, Taiwanese, and other countries.
The company has received positive feedback on its development and suggestions for improvement from Ukrainian defenders from the Kupiansk, Kherson and Mykolaiv sectors.
"When people say 'everything is great, everything is fine', and there are such reviews, it's not for engineers or designers. But when people call me and say: 'This would be better, can we add this?' This is necessary, it is a motivation for us. We are working and improving. In a few weeks, we will present Sirko 2," Krynychko said.

The Defense Ministry previously reported that since February 22, 2022, Ukraine has adopted 28 models of drones of its own production. Among all models, there are 9 'kamikaze' drones.
