Ukraine greenlights over 25 new interceptor drone models

Since the beginning of the year, the ministry has approved over 80 new Ukrainian drones equipped with fiber-optic control channels.

These systems resist electronic warfare, come in various designs, carry different weapons, and operate over varying ranges.

"We are focusing more efforts and resources on developing and producing effective strike systems, which Ukraine critically needs today. This includes UAVs with fiber-optic control channels and interceptor drones that target enemy reconnaissance and strike UAVs," said First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.

The Ukrainian military began mass deploying these UAVs in 2025.

• On July 4, President Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine plans to maximize the scale of interceptor drone production.
