Ukraine finds "outcome-driven" format to communicate with U.S. — Ukrainian Ambassador
Ukraine’s Ambassador to the U.S., Olha Stefanishyna, says Kyiv has found a way of communicating with Washington that she believes will best contribute to ending the war with Russia
She made the statement following the meeting between Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump in New York on September 23, according to Ukrinform.
“I would describe the meeting (between Presidents Zelensky and Trump – ed.) as very substantive, very positive, and, in my view, the most outcome-driven and agreement-filled… I believe we’ve found the format of dialogue that will best support progress,” Stefanishyna noted.
The ambassador added that the leaders’ meeting was long and calm, and in a “live discussion mode” they addressed the military situation, the needs of the armed forces, air defense systems, and economic pressure on Russia in particular.
"Currently, a strong Ukrainian delegation is working in New York for four days. There will be further meetings following the one with President Trump, and several delegations are expected to travel to Washington in the coming weeks to continue working on various issues. We’re also coordinating with our European partners. Not all matters related to ending the war involve direct dialogue with the aggressor. That’s why I remain cautiously optimistic and can confidently say that everything within our power will be done," she said.
