Since February 24, Ukraine has carried out 28 exchanges of POWs and released 978 people, including 99 civilians
Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar reported this on Telegram.
According to her, the last few days have become significant in the exchange of prisoners of war, and Ukraine "takes care of everyone, not loudly, because it is necessary." Hanna Malyar noted that this topic is very sensitive, so the details of the exchange are not shared not to cause harm, but the state is doing everything to liberate people.
"Negotiations regarding the release and exchange of our prisoners of war are ongoing. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 28 exchanges have already been carried out and 978 people have been released (including 99 civilians)," the deputy minister of defense emphasized.
She called on relatives of prisoners and missing persons to entrust information about them only to authorized state institutions - the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, which consists of more than 10 institutions and organizations. Hanna Malyar also added that the publicating personal data of prisoners of war and missing persons on social networks can harm security and exchange.
The coordination headquarters operates on the basis of Ukrainian intelligence. The office is located at the address: 37 Spaska Street, Kyiv, . Phone numbers: +38 (095) 412 74 24, +38 (044) 425 12 09.
There relatives of prisoners of war and missing persons are received there and provided with legal information or psychological assistance.
"I would like to remind you that Ukrainian servicemen released from captivity undergo treatment and rehabilitation in state medical institutions under the supervision of high-level specialists and receive a full range of necessary medical services free of charge. All their needs are fully financed by the state," Hanna Malyar said .
