Turkey agrees to pay for 25% of gas from Russia in rubles
The Presidents of Turkey and Russia, Recep Erdogan and Vladimir Putin, agreed on payment by Ankara of 25% of Russian gas in rubles

Putin announced this during a meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.
"As you know, our agreement on the supply of natural gas of Russian origin to Turkey for payment of 25% of these supplies in Russian rubles should come into effect in the near future.
The issue has been agreed, work in this regard will take place in accordance with our agreements," Putin told reporters.
Addressing Erdogan, the Russian president added that "we are ready to significantly increase our supplies to Turkey in all directions that are of interest to you."
