The Guardian reports that Donald Trump says he knows how to talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has not dared to attack any country during his term.
“Before I arrive in the Oval Office, I will have the disastrous war between Russia and Ukraine ended... I know what to say… When I was president, I told him: "Vladimir, don't do it. You know we're friends, don't take over countries, otherwise Moscow will be under a heavy blow'” Trump said during a speech at the Conservative Conference on March 5.
He added that Putin decided to start a war against Ukraine because of the failed withdrawal of the US military from Afghanistan in August 2021 and warned of the threat of World War III.
“And you’re going to have world war three, by the way. We’re going to have world war three if something doesn’t happen fast. I am the only candidate who can make this promise: I will prevent world war three,” Trump said.
On February 21, Donald Trump promised that if he were to return to the US presidency, he would stop Russia's war against Ukraine in a day.
