Top general visits Ukrainian positions in Kupyansk, Lyman directions
The Commander of the Land Forces, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi has visited the Ukrainian Armed Forces' positions in the Kupyansk and Lyman sectors
This is reported by the Military Media Center.
"After a month of fierce fighting and significant losses on the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy is regrouping its forces and assets, while simultaneously redeploying newly formed brigades and divisions from the territory of the Russian Federation. The main purpose of these measures is to increase the level of combat potential and resume active offensive actions," the statement says.
Russian terrorists continue to use aircraft, artillery and mortars. Under such circumstances, the Ukrainian military leadership must promptly take all measures to strengthen defense in threatened areas and advance where possible.
"To accomplish these tasks, my next working trip to the Kupyansk and Lyman directions was planned. In the course of the work, together with the commanders of the operational and tactical groups and brigade commanders, all the necessary decisions were made and measures were taken to strengthen our defense and repel enemy attacks," Syrskyi said in a statement.
