Currently, during the heaviest fighting near Avdiivka, Russia is losing 500 to 1,000 people a day, according to Western officials.
In their opinion, Ukraine's counteroffensive in the Zaporizhzhia direction is probably over, although "three brigades" have crossed the Dnipro River near Kherson.
"Neither side is capable of mounting a decisive operation on land," said one of the officials. The outlet noted that in the context of a prolonged conflict, the role of Western assistance is crucial for Ukraine.
