Taiwan opens number of charitable programs for Ukraine - MP Kniazhytskyi
Ukrainian lawmaker Mykola Kniazhytskyi says Taiwan's aid to Ukraine is hundreds of millions of dollars. Over USD 1 million has been allocated to Kyiv to provide medical and educational institutions in the capital with modern generators
He said this on Espreso TV.
“I am very pleased that cooperation between Ukraine and Taiwan has started to develop very actively now, because the Taiwanese have taken our pain as their own and are doing everything to help Ukraine now. I was one of the MPs who visited Taiwan. We met with the President, Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Digital Minister and many other Taiwanese leaders and saw how sincerely they care about Ukraine and everything that is happening here. And after that Taiwan opened a number of charitable programs for Ukraine. They actively help the South, Mykolaiv, and more than USD 1 million has been allocated to Kyiv to provide modern generators for medical and educational institutions. In general, Taiwan's assistance to Ukraine is hundreds of millions of dollars,” the lawmaker said.
Mykola Knyazhytskyi added that yesterday, January 15, more than 60 laptops, tablets and robots were presented to the Lviv Grono Lyceum, which is one of the largest schools in the city, where more than 1,200 children study, not only local, but also many IDP children from different regions of Ukraine, with the help of the Ministry of Digital Affairs and Acer.
“We are also grateful to the government of Taiwan for purchasing a powerful 40 kW generator, because the school is a large shelter and now during the alarms it will be possible to conduct a permanent educational process there. The pupils of this school win at various Olympiads, computer competitions and it is very important for us that these children stay in Ukraine, do not go abroad, and that the displaced children in Lviv also feel at home and get a good education. Taiwan has started this assistance and will continue it for us. Of course, it is very important,” Kniazhytskyi said.
