Strike on airfield near Pskov: Ukraine’s intelligence announces details
Ukrainian intelligence operates in the deep rear of the Russian Federation, and these operations will definitely be included in sabotage and history textbooks
Defense Express writes about it.
The strike on the Kresty airfield near Pskov, where the 334th Military Transport Aviation Regiment is based, was the most effective operation of the Ukrainian military.
Available satellite images show the complete destruction of two Il-76s with no chance of recovery, as well as critical damage to the center section of two more of these Russian military transport aircraft.
At the same time, the possibility of restoring the Il-76 parts that were damaged raises huge questions. It is impossible to repair them on site, and if they are to be restored, it will be done only at the Aviastar-SP manufacturing plant in Ulyanovsk. But the planes are not in airworthy condition due to damage, and how to transport them 1300 kilometers from Pskov is a rather interesting logistical challenge.
Chief of Ukraine's Defence Intelligence Kyrylo Budanov confirmed that the attack was carried out from the territory of the Russian Federation, and based on the provided image, copter-type drones were used in the attack.
Budanov's words mean that Ukrainian intelligence officers are operating not just on the territory of the Russian Federation, but more than 650 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. And they are acting effectively.
