Slovak government approves transfer of 13 MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine

Prime Minister of Slovakia Eduard Heger says the Slovak Cabinet of Ministers have approved the transfer of 13 MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine

Eduard Heger shared the information on Twitter.

"The Slovak government just approved sending 13 MiG-29s to Ukraine! Promises must be kept and when President Zelenskyy asked for more weapons including fighter jets, I said we’ll do our best. Glad others’re doing the same. Military aid’s key to ensure Ukraine can defend itself and the entire Europe against Russia," the Prime Minister wrote.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Slovakia for the MiG aircraft and invited the head of the Slovak government to Kyiv.

"Our Brussels agreements are working! In a phone conversation, I thanked Prime Minister of Slovakia Eduard Heger for a powerful package of air and air defense weapons, including MiG aircraft. I appreciate his personal role in supporting Ukraine. I look forward to continuing our dialogue in Kyiv," he wrote.
