He shared the information on Espreso TV.

"The situation remains difficult both to the north and south of Bakhmut. In the north, the enemy managed to equalize along the Bohdanivka - Ivanivske - Khromove line. The enemy is trying to advance along the Bakhmut - Ivanivske road in the direction of Chasiv Yar, which is almost 5 km away. But Chasiv Yar is located at a height, and this is of fundamental importance for our defense line, so the invaders are trying to advance there, regardless of losses," commented the expert.

Serhiy Zgurets spoke about another difficult area - north of Klishchiivka, where Russian troops are trying to climb the dominant heights where a well-known stronghold is located. At the moment, there is fighting around this stronghold. Accordingly, the situation there remains difficult and everything depends on the courage of Ukrainian soldiers, the use of artillery, and the support of forces and equipment in this area of the front.

  • On December 15, Russian troops continued to advance and had minor successes near Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka, Donetsk region.
  • On December 17, the spokesman for the 26th Roman Dashkevych Artillery Brigade, Oleh Kalashnikov, said that Russia was making attempts to advance in the Bakhmut direction and suffering losses.
  • On December 18, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that in the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 attacks near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka and Andriivka, Donetsk region.
