EU extends sectoral sanctions on Russia for another six months

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas wrote this on X, reports European Pravda.

The EU’s top diplomat noted that pressure on Russia will continue until it ends its war against Ukraine.

“Each sanction weakens Russia’s ability to wage war,” Kallas emphasized.

A source speaking to European Pravda said that following a written procedure, all 27 EU countries signed the document extending the sectoral sanctions.

“So, the sanctions are extended until January 31, 2026,” he added.

• EU ambassadors will not discuss the 18th sanctions package against Russia until Slovakia resolves its dispute with the European Commission over refusing Russian gas.
