Poltava region: on the night of Monday, October 16, Russian troops attacked Ukraine’s Poltava region with both missiles and drones. Three residents, including a child, were injured as a result of the missile debris falling.
The sounds of explosions were heard in Myrhorod district. However, no hits to civilian or critical infrastructure were recorded.
Instead, missile fragments fell on several private houses. According to preliminary information, three people were injured, including a ten-year-old child.
All the victims were taken to the hospital.
Khmelnytskyi region: Espreso reported the sounds of explosions in the Khmelnytskyi region.
At 04:31, Russia launched a Shahed attack on Khmelnytskyi and Starokonstyantyniv. The Ukrainian Air Force also reported on air defense operations. There were no casualties or damage as a result of the attack.
Kirovohrad region: on the night of Monday, October 16, the Russian army attacked the Kirovohrad region with missiles and drones. One person was wounded as a result of the attack.
Air defense was operating in the region, some of the launched missiles and drones were intercepted, but others reached their targets.
One person was taken to the hospital. There was no damage to civilian infrastructure.
Dnipropetrovsk region: Russia attacked Dnipropetrovsk region using missiles, artillery and Grad MLRS. One missile was shot down by air defense, another hit the territory of Dnipropetrovsk district. The damage was recorded in private enterprises and the residential sector.
Ukrainian Air Force destroys 2 Russian Kh-59 missiles and 11 Shahed drones overnight
The Air Force of Ukraine reported the information.
It noted that on the night of October 16, Russian troops attacked Ukraine from several directions, using ballistic weapons, guided missiles and attack drones.
In total, the Air Force recorded the use of one Iskander M ballistic missile, 5 Kh-59 guided missiles and 12 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs.
On the United News telethon, Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat said that the missiles were mainly aimed at the northern and eastern regions at certain targets, while the drones moved in several groups in different directions, including to the western regions.
As a result of combat operations, the Air Force destroyed two Kh-59 guided missiles and 11 Shaheds.
According to Ihnat, Russia launched drones from the temporarily occupied Crimea from the Chauda airfield.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, overnight Russian troops launched 10 missile and 87 air strikes, and 68 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas of Ukraine.
