Russia’s elite units do not want to fight on front line – Ukraine’s southern command spokesperson

"The enemy is focused on maneuvering, as they face challenges in positioning their units due to our effective counter-battery measures. Ukrainian forces carry out targeted operations wherever they try to regain their positions. We appreciate the cooperation of the local population, who actively avoid these areas, understanding that the enemy's presence indicates our focus on combat operations in those regions," noted Humeniuk.

According to the spokesperson, there is discord in the Russian army due to the fact that the army has various units.

"That is, the mobilized soldiers are close to well-trained units, such as airborne assault units. The ones that are considered elite and do not want to go to the front lines, considering it beneath their dignity. They claim that cannon fodder should go there. In the intercepts, we hear exactly these sentiments: first, let them shoot the mobilization resource, and then we will take on the bigger picture. The moral and psychological state of the Russian troops has been shaken by a long stay in positions in deep defense," emphasized Humeniuk.
