Russians will portrait retreat from Kherson as great tactical victory - military expert Katkov

He shared his opinion with Espreso TV. 

“I think that Prigozhin and Kadyrov have enough media resources to tell the Russians about the escape from Kherson as a great tactical victory. They will talk about the objective and operational success of the Russian army,” Katkov explained.

The expert believes that Putin gave Surovikin complete carte blanche to act against Ukraine.

“The escape will be described by the Russians as a forced retreat to pre-prepared positions when the enemy is chasing them in panic. However, I do not think that Surovikin is in any danger in terms of his career. He has received the maximum trust rating from Putin and will do everything possible to please Putin. He received complete carte blanche and therefore uses missile terror tactics throughout the territory of Ukraine,” he added.
