Russians force Sievierodonetsk residents to dig trenches, as FSB checks people for "treason"
In the temporarily Russian occupied Sievierodonetsk in Ukraine's Luhansk region, Russian special services are checking residents for signs of "treason", asking if they have relatives in non Russian occupied parts of Ukraine. Residents caught trying to make phone calls to Ukraine are forced to dig trenches
This was announced by the head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Artem Lysohor.
According to the administration, officers from the FSB are conducting checks on the local governments in Kadiivka and Alchevsk. They are asking people about their relatives in the parts of Ukraine that are not under occupation, as well as inquiring about their colleagues. The officers are also inspecting individuals who have access to classified information.
The administration stated that the Russians will carry out similar measures in all settlements, as the detection of spies is increasing in the so-called "LPR."
Residents of Sievierodonetsk, who were caught trying to make phone calls from tall buildings, are being taken out of town and forced to dig trenches for the Russian military.
“Previously, they were fined, but the occupiers escalated their actions. People who have been detained and released report that they were taken outside the city and compelled to construct fortifications for the Russian military. They were made to dig trenches for two-week periods,” as mentioned by Lysohor.
