In Russian-occupied Pryvillia, "mayor" threatens to arrest residents for communicating with those living in free Ukrainian areas - AFU General Staff
Russian invading forces are strengthening the counterintelligence regime in the temporarily occupied town of Pryvillia, Luhansk region, threatening locals for communicating with people on the territory controlled by Ukraine
The spokesman of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Andriy Kovalov, shared the information.
"In Pryvillia, a town in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region, the invaders are strengthening the counterintelligence regime, primarily to identify informants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces among the local population," the speaker said.
The military emphasized that over the past week the so-called “mayor” of Pryvillia has been threatening and forbidding local residents to communicate with citizens from the Ukraine-controlled territory using a loudspeaker in his car.
"This self-proclaimed mayor threatened local residents with alleged administrative liability for such actions: for women, up to 15 days in jail, for men, up to 30 days with confiscation of property. But all these are insignificant threats of the occupiers," Kovalov emphasized.
