Russians force about 3,000 ZNPP workers to obtain Russian passports, recruitment for territorial defense force continues in Russia’s Belgorod region

In Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhia region, Russian troops forced about 3,000 ZNPP workers to obtain passports of the Russian Federation.

Russian pressure on the local population of the occupied territories continues: in Enerhodar, Russian invading forces took hryvnia out of circulation, threatening entrepreneurs with fines and seizure of property. Also, they capture residential premises that were abandoned by internally displaced persons.

Meanwhile in Russia’s Belgorod region, recruitment for territorial defense is underway:

"As a plan to recruit volunteers for territorial defense forces in the Belgorod region was not implemented, local police were involved in a recruitment campaign. Officers go around apartments and houses, conduct census of male population of draft age and discuss popularization of the service," the press service of Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff says.

Aviation of Ukrainian Armed Forces struck Russian troops’ area of ​​concentration 

On January 6, Ukrainian aviation struck the area where Russian occupying forces were concentrated. Ukrainian units of missile troops and artillery, inflicted fire damage on 4 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment of Russian invading forces as well as 2 warehouses with fuel.

On January 6, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled attacks near 14 settlements

Ukrainian Defense forces repelled Russian attacks in Stelmakhivka, Makiivka, Dibrova and Bilohorivka settlements in Luhansk region and Ozaryanivka, Soledar, Krasna Hora, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Sil, Pervomaiske, Mariinka and Pobieda in Donetsk region.

Russian troops launched a missile attack on Ukraine on January 6 and fired 20 times from multiple rocket launchers.

Russian occupying forces concentrate their main efforts on attempts to completely capture the Donetsk region within its administrative border. They are also conducting offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction.

Situation in different directions

Situation has not undergone significant changes on the border with Belarus. Military did not find any signs of Russian offensive groups forming.

In the northern and northeastern Ukrainian border with Russia in Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions, Russian troops shelled Strilecha, Bochkove, Komisarove and 6 other settlements of Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction and in Lyman direction, Russian forces shelled more than 20 settlements. Among them are Dvorichna, Kupiansk, Kislivka, Kotlyarivka and Krokhmalne in Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka, Makiivka, Ploshanka and Dibrova in Luhansk region.

More than 20 settlements were shelled in the Bakhmut direction of the Donetsk region. In particular, these are Yakovlivka, Spirne, Berestovka, Bilohorivka, Soledar, Bakhmut and New York.

Avdiivka, Vesele, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Kamianka, Heorgiivka, Mariinka and Novomykhailivka were affected in the Avdiivka direction of the Donetsk region.

In Vuhledar direction of the Donetsk region, Russian troops shelled Vremivka, Velyka Novosilka, Vuhledar and Paraskoviivka.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, 23 settlements were affected by Russian fire. Among them - Zelene Pole and Novopil in Donetsk region; Hulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Shcherbaky and Stepove in Zaporizhzhia and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region.

In the Kherson direction, Russian forces did not stop shelling populated areas along the right bank of Dnipro river. In particular, civil infrastructure of Chornobayivka, Antonivka, Beryslav, Zolota Balka and Kherson was affected. There are victims among civilians.

  • Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Haidai, said that Russian troops did not stop firing, despite the "Christmas truce" announced by them.
