Russians fire 22 times on Luhansk region on May 9: National Police premise destroyed, there are victims

Luhansk Regional State Administration Head Sergiy Gaidai announced Russian attacks in his Telegram channel.

"On May 9, Russians shelled all possible routes out of the region. It was dangerous in Bilogorovka and Shypilove. Fighting continues for Voyevodivka, Toshkivka and Nyzhne. Russians fired 22 times on cities and villages in the region over the past day," he wrote.

Residential buildings in Severodonetsk and Lysychansk were destroyed by shelling.

In Severodonetsk, the Russian shell hit the building of the local branch of the National Police, there was a significant fire, which destroyed the premises and equipment.

People remain blocked in Shypilove. As police tried to get there and inspect the destruction, Russians opened fire on them. One police officer was injured.

The Severodonetsk resident, who received shrapnel limb wounds on May 9, was taken to a hospital in Poltava.

Russians continue to prepare an offensive in the Severodonetsk direction.

"For the previous day in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions Ukrainian forces successfully repulsed 15 Russian attacks: destroyed a Russian anti-aircraft missile system, 9 tanks, 3 artillery systems, 25 armored combat vehicles, 3 units of special engineering equipment and 3 vehicles," Gaidai pointed out.

Ukrainian air defense shot down a Russian Orlan-10 drone.
