Russians attack Odesa with missiles and drones: hits damage windows in apartment buildings
On the night of June 26, residents of the Odesa region heard explosions, air defense was operating, downing 5 Shahed drones and 2 missiles. One missile hit a warehouse
OC South spokeswoman Natalia Humeniuk stated this on Espreso.
“It was a challenging night with a strong storm and thunderstorm. The enemy used Kalibr-type missiles and the "Shaheds" during the bad weather to disrupt the efforts of the air defense forces and cause extensive damage. Unfortunately, the consequences of the air battles affected the local population as well. Two Kalibr missiles and two Shahed drones were destroyed over the sea,” she said.
However, one missile hit a warehouse, causing damage. The blast wave also shattered windows in two apartment buildings along the coast. Fortunately, there are no casualties, and people are receiving assistance.
Overall, the air defense forces successfully destroyed five Shahed drones and two missiles in the region.
Humeniuk added that “the air defense forces performed effectively.”
During the night, Vladyslav Nazarov, the spokesperson of the operational command South, and Oleg Kiper, the head of Odesa regional military administration, warned about the ongoing air defense operations in the region.
Nazarov stated that the enemy was attacking Odesa region, and the air defense forces were actively engaged, including over the city. He urged everyone to prioritize their safety, stay in shelters, and refrain from filming or sharing the air defense activities on social networks.
Later, Kiper also warned about the attack: “The terrorist country attacks Odesa. The defense forces are operating. Remain in shelters until the air-raid alarm ceases and do not film the air defense operations.”
