Russians are in the grips of political schizophrenia, it is not a war of Russia against Ukraine, it is a war of the worlds – Portnikov
Journalist Vitaly Portnikov believes that Russians are in the grips of political schizophrenia, as they say one thing, but do another. This war is not about Russia against Ukraine, it is a war between different worlds, different civilizations.
Portnikov shared his analysis on air on Espreso.tv.
"Russians’ actions contradict their words and even their beliefs. "Kyiv is the mother of Russian cities, so let's burn it.” “Kharkiv is a Russian city, let's throw rockets at it." “Mariupol is the heart of the ‘Donetsk People's Republic’, so let's destroy everything’” Portnikov explained, adding “Don’t you think that’s political schizophrenia? I do.”
He stressed that Russia's war against Ukraine is not a war of countries, but a war of the worlds.
"Here we are, one civilization, then an abyss, and then, another civilization. A civilization of evil. Ukraine’s borders marks the end of good, and the beginning of the civilization of evil. Tchaikovsky or Rachmaninoff? It doesn't matter, Russians don't hear these composers, they don't feel anything. If a person is mentally empty, it doesn't matter what music he listens to or what pictures he looks at," said Portnikov.
