Russian strike kills 12-year-old boy in Sumy region, injures another child
On Saturday, August 2, Russian occupation forces launched an attack on the Svesa community in Ukraine’s Sumy region, killing a 12-year-old boy and injuring another child

The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, reported that the enemy struck the community around 2:30 p.m.
“Two teenagers were near the impact site. A 12-year-old boy died before medics arrived,” Hryhorov said.
A 13-year-old boy was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds. Doctors are currently fighting to save his life.
Earlier that morning, Russian forces also attacked the Sumy district. A drone strike hit an Ukrposhta (Ukrainian postal service) vehicle, injuring two people.
