
Russian forces strike downtown Kharkiv with guided bombs, killing one, injuring 18
On Saturday, June 7, the invading Russian army launched another strike with guided aerial bombs on the center of Kharkiv. According to preliminary data, one person was killed and 18 were injured
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported the information.
"The enemy has struck Kharkiv again - this time with guided aerial bombs," he wrote at 5:33 p.m.
Two minutes later, the mayor warned that another bomb was in the airspace over the city.
Two bomb hits were recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv.
"One person died as a result of the strike on the central part of the city. There are several injured," Terekhov said.
Later, the mayor reported that the number of injured had increased to 10.
As of 7:01 p.m., the number of victims was 16, Terekhov wrote.
"The number of injured continues to rise - now there are 18," Terekhov reported at 7:15 p.m.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, clarified that hits were recorded in two districts of Kharkiv - Kyivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi.
Shevchenkivskyi district:
As a result of the shelling, the building of the children's railway was preliminarily damaged.
Kyivskyi district:
As a result of the shelling, a private residential building was damaged.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a 30-year-old woman was killed as a result of the enemy strike.
The director of the Passenger Company branch of Ukrzaliznytsia, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, noted that the deceased was the head of the Children's Railway.
Later, Syniehubov clarified that the enemy dropped four guided bombs on the city. As a result of the shelling, 2 buildings of the Children's Railway and 4 wagons, 2 private houses, and an outbuilding were damaged.
