Russian attack on Kyiv likely to be repeated soon — National Guard major Hetman
Russia has changed its tactics in attacking Ukraine, now focusing missile and drone strikes on two or three selected locations rather than dispersing them across the country
This was stated by Oleksii Hetman, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war and a retired major of Ukraine’s National Guard, during a broadcast on Espreso TV.
"Russia cannot attack Ukraine with hundreds of missiles in a single strike. However, they have managed to increase drone production, which allows them to launch several hundred drones against Ukraine daily. The situation with missiles is different — their missile production can generate up to 100 units per month," Hetman explained.
According to him, Russia will continue conducting large-scale attacks in an attempt to weaken Ukraine’s air defense.
"Those 100 missiles are launched in one, two, or three waves across Ukraine. That’s why an attack like the one that recently targeted Kyiv could happen again in the coming days — they haven’t yet used all 100 missiles they currently have. Their tactics have also changed. Instead of spreading 50–60 missiles across numerous targets, they now choose one or two specific locations and direct the missiles there. This way, the enemy tries to overload our air defense. They also launch large numbers of Shahed drones at the same targets," he concluded.
