In northern Ukraine, Russian drones crashed in Chernihiv, damaging transport facilities, while firefighters responding to an earlier strike on critical infrastructure in Nizhyn, Chernihiv region, were targeted. Two rescuers were injured and hospitalized, authorities said.

Poltava region

A Russian drone struck a residential building in Poltava region, setting fire to part of the structure. Most residents had taken shelter, and no casualties were reported. Local officials said other civilian infrastructure was also hit.

"Fortunately, there were no residents in the apartment at the time of the strike, and most of the building's residents managed to get down to the shelter. No information about casualties or injuries has been received," the State Emergency Service’s report said.

According to Suspilne, a Russian drone also struck a civilian dormitory in Ukraine’s Poltava district, causing extensive damage but no casualties, regional officials said.

The attack destroyed the apartment of resident Olesia Skyba, though she and her family were not at home at the time. The strike burned out the flat and flooded the floor after hitting the roof above one of the rooms.

District head Volodymyr Bohatyr said all residents were in shelters during the attack. “The windows and doors are destroyed, the top floor is partially damaged, and there was a fire in one of the apartments,” he said. One person required hospitalization after the building was left without electricity and water. Others have been relocated to temporary housing or taken in by relatives and friends, he added.

Dnipropetrovsk region

In Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian drones and artillery targeted several communities, hitting homes, administrative buildings and municipal facilities, sparking multiple fires that were later contained.

Ukraine’s air force said it destroyed at least three drones over the Dnipropetrovsk region during the attacks.
