PACE to consider resolutions on release of military, civilian Ukrainians from Russian captivity
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is discussing resolutions regarding the release of Ukrainian military personnel and civilians held by Russia
Mariia Mezentseva-Fedorenko, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU and Head of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, reported this on August 5, according to the Verkhovna Rada website.
Mezentseva-Fedorenko stated that a resolution advocating for the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war has been submitted to PACE. Additionally, a separate resolution addressing the release of civilian hostages is currently being prepared.
"We have clear goals and objectives: the release of Ukrainian civilians and military personnel who have been illegally detained in Russian prisons since 2014. A resolution calling for the release of prisoners of war has already been registered with PACE. Additionally, a resolution addressing civilians in captivity will be finalized soon," Mezentseva-Fedorenko said.
She also noted that efforts are ongoing to implement the points of the Peace Formula and to prepare for the second Peace Summit.
